CPR

We offer CPR training for students that is conducted by certified faculty. The purpose of the first aid/CPR/aed program is to equip participants with the skills to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. The training teaches participants how to provide immediate care to an injured or ill person until advanced medical personnel arrive.

American Heart Association basic life support for the healthcare professional basic life support (BLS) for healthcare professionals trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies across the life span. This training includes: how to give high-quality chest compressions to circulate the blood, the delivery of appropriate ventilations using a bag-valve mask to provide oxygen to the victim, and the application and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to provide the electricity needed to convert a lethal cardiac rhythm. This training is a two part program, with the participant taking the online course at: https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-bls, followed by a hands-on demonstration of CPR skills.
