In 2012, driven by a group of dynamic, motivated women, Husson University formed the Women’s Philanthropy Council. The mission is to lead engagement efforts that inspire women to give of their time, talent, and resources to Husson and to develop women leaders in philanthropy today and for generations to come.
Annually, the Council hosts a special luncheon event that brings together our scholarship donors with their student recipients. Scholarship donors learn directly about student experiences and our students learn about the life of philanthropists and their motivation to support education.
In the spring, the Council hosts an annual speaker series for our campus community and for the community at large, showcasing successful women leaders.
The Council, true to its philanthropic mission, created theHusson University Women’s Philanthropy Council Scholarship Fund. This scholarship provides financial assistance to full-time matriculated Husson students in good academic standing who have demonstrated financial need in working toward an undergraduate degree. The council also created theHusson University Women's Philanthropy Council President's Innovation Fund, theWomen's Philanthropy Council/Husson University Faculty Scholar Enhancement Fund, and theHusson University Women's Philanthropy Council General Fund.
