Biography

Frank Welch has been an instructor with Husson University since fall 2007, teaching courses on editing, lighting, gathering audio, and shooting video for various styles and positions in the world of video production.

Frank started his career in news, directing live events and eventually managing a news production team of 14 in Portland Maine for five years.  He transitioned from news production to long format and commercial production in 2001 and has been focused on that side of video production ever since. Frank continues to work throughout the United States for numerous clients as a freelance producer and editor, creating long and short format videos that are usually for training or educational purposes.  His work has been translated into 19 languages throughout the world; he has had a nationally released project in each of the past six years.

Frank currently resides in Maine with his wife, Carrie, and his two children, Nathan and Nicole.
