Biography

Cavenaugh Kelly, Ph.D., MS, OTR/L is an assistant professor with over seventeen years of clinical experience primarily in home health and outpatient settings. He has been a fulltime professor at Husson since 2014. He has earned a Level II Ergonomics certification from the Back School of Atlanta, is certified in LSVT BIG for Parkinson’s disease rehabilitation and Tai Chi for Rehabilitation through Dr. Paul Lamb’s Tai Chi for Health Institute. He has a background as an award winning newspaper journalist and his fiction short stories have been published in numerous literary journals. He has a Bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Southern Maine, a Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern Maine, and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Narrative Medicine through the University of Maine. His research focus is the influence of literary narratives on the empathy levels of occupational therapy students. He teaches courses in Work and Industry, Upper Extremity, Context & the Environment, Wellness, and Human Occupation and Movement.
