Why Husson

In Husson's unique Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering degree program, you can choose between two specific concentrations: live sound production or music production. Live sound production focuses on mixing and operating sound for live events and productions; music production delves into the skills needed to successfully produce and record music in the studio. Depending on your interests and ultimate career goals, you're certain to find a concentration that inspires you.

Beyond the specific concentrations, you will learn audio engineering fundamentals and take courses introducing the science behind audio and studio recording. You'll learn in Husson's state-of-the-art facilities, developing your skills and passions using professional quality equipment and tool. You'll also have opportunities to put your skills to the test outside the classroom, recording audio for student projects and performances. As an audio engineering student, you'll also have the opportunity to meet and learn from your peers in NESCom's student chapter of the Audio Engineering Society.

We also offer official Avid Pro Tools Certification courses, if you're looking to open up more career opportunities.

Career outlook

Depending on the concentration you choose, you'll discover a wide range of career opportunities as an audio engineering expert. Music production students can look forward to careers as recording engineers, producers, mixing engineers, Pro Tools editors, mastering engineers or put it all together as recording studio owners or managers, to name just a few career paths. Live production students often find careers as mixers and engineers for live events, designing and running sound systems, as well as operating lighting systems and monitor mixing. With so many career opportunities for audio engineers, there's no doubt that an audio engineering degree from Husson is a sound investment.
