Published on: January 3, 2014
BANGOR AND AUBURN, MAINE – December 23, 2013 - Central Maine Community College (CMCC) and Husson University have approved a memorandum of understanding that will facilitate the transfer of credits and provide students interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a smooth transition from CMCC to Husson.
The agreement outlines admission and program requirements. It also specifies which CMCC courses can be used to meet general elective and major requirements at Husson. Individual course equivalencies listed by program are included in the agreement to assist in the advising process.
In assessing the significance of the agreement between the two organizations, Husson University's College of Business Dean Marie Hansen said, "Students who successfully complete approved coursework at Central Maine Community College in accounting, business administration, computer information systems, criminal justice, hospitality and tourism management, and sport management can now seamlessly transfer their credits to Husson University.”
Hansen continued: “This agreement identifies clear pathways for students interested in continuing their education beyond the associate’s degree level. We are pleased to provide CMCC students opportunities to further their education with bachelor degree completion.”
“We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Husson University with these additional transfer agreements,” added Liz Oken, director of placement and transfer services at CMCC. “Current and potential CMCC students are encouraged to take advantage of this great opportunity and connect with transfer services early in their college career for advising and guidance through this process.”
