The New England School of Communications at Husson University to Hold Auditions for New End-of-the-World Student Film

BANGOR, MAINE – The New England School of Communications (NESCom) at Husson University announced today that it is beginning the casting process for their new short film, The Endless Ends. This original production written by Kris Bridges, a digital media specialist and video instructor at NESCom, is the story of a recovering alcoholic reflecting on his past who wants to make amends with his family before the world ends. Over the course of the film, the audience will be taken on an emotional journey that addresses youthful rebellion, midlife regret and impending death.
While this is the third short film created by the students and faculty of NESCom, it is the school’s first original production. Previous productions featured adaptations of stories by noted internationally prominent authors. In 2013, NESCom completed production of the Last Rung on the Ladder, an adaptation of a Stephen King story. Earlier this year, NESCom completed work on a film based on a J.K. Rowling story, The Tale of the Three Brothers.
The online trailer for The Tale of the Three Brothers has generated over 100,000 views on YouTube while the finished production played to packed houses at Husson’s Gracie Theatre and received rave reviews.
“Similar to our previous efforts, The Endless Ends will be a professional-quality production,” said Frank Welch, Instructor and Video Program Curriculum Coordinator at Husson University’s New England School of Communications. “Films like this are an outstanding opportunity to showcase the quality of our educational programs along with the creativity and talents of our NESCom students.”
Auditions are scheduled for Friday, September 12 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Gracie Theatre’s Black Box Theater on the building’s second level. The Gracie Theatre is located on the campus of Husson University in Bangor, Maine. Auditions are open to the public and members of the Husson campus community.
Principal photography will commence in September and wrap in December. All of the scenes in this original production will be shot on Saturdays, in or near Bangor, Maine. Those who are cast will not be required to attend every day of shooting.
