BANGOR, MAINE - Husson University announced today that it will host the 42nd Annual Frank M. Carter Tax Institute on its campus in Bangor, Maine at the Richard E. Dyke Center for Family Business on Friday, December 12.
This annual event, co-sponsored by Husson University and the Penobscot County Bar Association, is designed to provide tax practitioners with the most current information available about the tax and legislative changes affecting their practices and their clients in the upcoming year. The day provides attendees with the opportunity to earn education credits. Tax Institute participants can earn up to 8 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credits and 6.5 hours of continuing legal education (CLE) credits, including 1 hour of ethics credit.
Nancy Forster-Holt, Ph.D., executive director of entrepreneurship and executive development at Husson University noted that it is important for attorneys, accountants and financial planning professionals to fully understand the implications of the latest regulations, tax changes and trends.
“Besides fulfilling licensing requirements, staying current helps these financial advisors create value for clients while enhancing the effectiveness of their practices. To accomplish this, we stepped up the content and included presentations with even more information and insight into the issues affecting tax professionals and their clients. In addition, this year’s Tax Institute will feature the many presenters who made last year’s event such a success. The combination of enhanced content, exceptional presenters and enthusiastic attendees will make this year’s Tax Institute both lively and engaging,” said Forster-Holt.
