- Senator Angus King to Speak at Husson University Breakfast Event

WHO: The Honorable Angus S. King Jr., United States Senator, will speak at Husson University on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 8 a.m.
Senator King will serve as a new member of the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. He will also continue to serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the Senate Budget Committee and the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration.
Sworn into office in January 2013, King is Maine’s first Independent Senator. Prior to that, he served as Governor of Maine from 1994 – 2002. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia Law School.
WHAT: During the first hour of the event, those in attendance will have the opportunity to network with members of the community as they enjoy a continental breakfast consisting of pastries, fruit, coffee, tea and water.
Following the networking portion of the event, Senator King will share his thoughts on a variety of issues facing the new Congress including: health care, the environment, homeland security and education reform. His presentation is entitled, “The 114th Congress: Where We Are and Where We’re Going – A Washington Update.”
