The Husson University School of Nursing hosted its annual DAISY Award presentation on March 21, 2024, to honor 2024 winners and nominees.
Students Katherine Worster and Abigail Bryan were selected as this year’s DAISY Award recipients. In addition to the winners, nominees Alaina Bates, Molly Chicoine, Amanda Frost, Mia Cianchette and Ben Crone were also honored. The faculty awards were presented to Jill Vaughn and Eugene Gregor for their unwavering dedication to inspiring students to provide excellent patient care.
Winners were presented with recognition certificates as well as a Healer’s Touch Sculpture from Zimbabwe, a handcrafted sculpture intended to honor the bond between nurses and their patients.
The DAISY Foundation was created in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died from complications of the autoimmune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP). DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System and the awards honor outstanding nursing educators and students.
Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees for the School of Nursing’s 2024 DAISY Awards!
