Husson’s School of Nursing Announces 2025 DAISY Award Winners

The Husson University School of Nursing announced the winners and nominees of the 2025 DAISY Awards on Thursday, March 27, during the annual DAISY Awards Celebration.
The awards honor outstanding nursing educators and students.for their compassion and engagement towards their patients and promoting a healthy work environment.
Third-Year Nursing Student Rachel Balmas was selected as this year’s student award recipient. Balmas was awarded for her strong communication, protection of patient safety, and abiding towards strict Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA, regulations.
Professor Stephanie Seeley-Bishop was selected as this year’s staff award recipient. In student Sean Cook’s nomination letter, he noted Seeley-Bishop’s strong work ethic, “jovial” atmosphere, and ability to instill confidence into all of her students.
Other student nominees included Madelyn Arsenault, Ryan Banister, Kayden Butterworth, Sean Cook, Alexis Dostie, Lucas Fendl, Riley Mahoney, and Ember Trumbull. Clinical preceptors Cheyenne Judd and Emily Randall were also nominated for the staff award.
All nominees and winners were presented with certificates and pins celebrating their accomplishments, as well as cinnamon rolls per DAISY award tradition. The winners also received hand carved “Healer’s Touch” sculptures from Zimbabwe, and access to the DAISY Foundation’s website and benefits programs.
The DAISY Foundation was created in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died from complications of the autoimmune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP). DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System.
