President Coy-Ogan

coy-ogan-family.jpgDr. Lynne Coy-Ogan is the seventh President and first female CEO of Husson University in Bangor, Maine. She became president on July 1, 2024.

A passionate educator, President Coy-Ogan began her career as a teacher and then advanced to school administrator roles in K-8 schools in Maryland and Maine. In 2002, she was honored as Maine's National Distinguished Principal. President Coy-Ogan has served in leadership positions at Husson for nearly 20 years, first as Dean of the School of Education and most recently as Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.

President Coy-Ogan has served on numerous task forces for issues related to leadership, curriculum reform and assessment practices. She has chaired and participated on accreditation teams for New England Commission of Higher Education and program reviews for the Maine Department of Education throughout Maine, New England, Europe and the Middle East.  

A firm believer in the power of mentorship, President Coy-Ogan often speaks about the mentors who encouraged her to push her boundaries throughout her career, beginning with her time as an undergraduate student at Boston University. President Coy-Ogan earned a B.S. from Boston University, a M.S. from Johns Hopkins University and an Ed.D. from Liberty University. 

She is a mother of two grown daughters and lives in Bangor with her husband.
