The following degree recipients are eligible to participate in the May 2024 commencement ceremonies:
- Students who completed their degree in August or December 2023
- Students who anticipate completing their degree in May 2024
Students who are within six credit hours of completing their degree requirements by the end of the Spring 2024 semester and registered for their final courses during the Summer 2024 or Fall 2024 semester may seek permission to participate in the commencement ceremony early. Students must first submit their petition to graduate through the student portal. The petition will not be available until registration opens for summer and fall. When completing the petition to graduate, students must select either 2024/SS (2024 Summer) or 2024/FA (2024 Fall) as their completion term. After making this selection, students must then complete a request for permission to participate form. A copy of this form can be found on the Registrar's Office Eagle Connect site. Students will need to make sure to obtain all of the necessary approval signatures and then submit the form to the Registrar's Office for review.
Yes, all students who would like to participate in commencement must be on the participant list no later than close of business on Friday, February 2, 2024.
Students who qualify to seek permission to participate in commencement but will not be completing degree requirements until August or December will not have the ability to submit graduation petitions until registration opens for summer and fall and can disregard this deadline. However, students should submit their petitions as soon as they become available to allow sufficient time for the request to be reviewed.
