Simulation Educator

The Simulation Educator collaboratively develops and implements high-quality formative and summative scenarios and skills labs to meet student and faculty needs and accreditation standards. They manage partnerships with external agencies, such as colleges, universities, medical schools, and hospitals, ensuring adherence to simulation-based best practices. The educator also designs curriculum for simulation-based courses and identifies resources necessary for successful training of Nursing OT, PT, Pharmacy and IPE simulation educational experiences.

They implement inventory control procedures to ensure effective implementation of all experiences. In collaboration with the Simulation Center Director, they develop data collection and record-keeping procedures to consistently and effectively evaluate student learning. The educator trains simulation users in experiential activities and the operation of high-fidelity simulators. They update and refine simulation experiences with standards and best practices and serve as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation experiences.

They conduct tours of the facilities and promote the use of the interdisciplinary experience and Simulation Education Center. Additionally, the educator supports college accreditation needs, develops and maintains the Central Piedmont simulation center policies and procedures manual, and collaborates with the Director on SSH accreditation preparation and application process as well as future compliance.

They also collaboratively develop and implement a Standardized Participant (SP) program for the simulation Education Center, including policies and procedures, training, and scheduling for the SPs. The educator works collaboratively with Sim tech for technical support and maintenance of high-fidelity manikins.Engage in opportunities to share information and best practices externally (i.e. presenter or panelist at conferences and local user groups).
