Build a successful career in social media, marketing, advertising and more
Want a career as a content creator, research analyst, or marketing executive? Husson’s Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Communications will prepare you to work in social media, digital marketing, advertising, market research, or public relations while providing you a foundation in business too. While you may already be producing your own TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube videos, our Marketing Communications program will help you take your talents to the next level. At Husson, you’ll also have the opportunity to earn certificates in specialty areas such as business administration, digital marketing, graphic/visual design, hospitality, photography, sales, web media, and more.
Marketing communications is a commonly used term in the industry to describe all the messages and media that you use to communicate with target markets, whether that is prospective customers, employees, community members, or others. While marketing and public relations were commonly separate departments in most companies, today they are most often combined into one called marketing communications.
Program Overview
Husson’s Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Communications takes a hands-on approach. You’ll take a Marketing Fundamentals course where you’ll identify a product and create a marketing plan for it. In the Consumer Behavior class, you’ll learn about customers’ preferences, attitudes and behavior. The Advertising Principles course provides you with an understanding of the types of ads, how to create them and develop an integrated campaign. The Digital Marketing and the Social Media Marketing classes use simulations to give you a chance to practice placing ads and see how successful they would be.
And when you graduate? You’ll have a wide range of career options available to you. Our grads work as account executives, brand managers, communications directors, community managers, content strategists, e-commerce directors, design specialists, digital creators, growth managers, market research analysts, public relations directors, sales managers and social media account managers.
