The Maine Transfer Guarantee

The Maine Transfer Guarantee is a partnership between the Maine Community College System and Husson University and ensures that eligible students have guaranteed admissions and a seamless transfer process!

Who qualifies?

To be considered for the Maine Transfer Guarantee, a student must

  • Hold an associate’s degree from a Maine Community College
  • Have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5


What degree programs are available?

Students who apply through the Maine Transfer Guarantee program are eligible to enroll in most bachelor’s degree programs at Husson University.  To see a complete list of Degree Programs, click here

However, the following programs are not eligible:

  • BS Nursing
  • BS Nursing 3-Year
  • BS Psychology/MS OT
  • BS Psychology/OTD
  • BS Health Science/OTD
  • BS Healthcare Admin. & Public Health/MS OT
  • BS Exercise Science/DPT
  • BS Health Sciences/DPT
  • BS Health Sciences/PharmD
  • Any BS/MBA, BS/MSCJA, BS Psychology/CMHC & School Counseling dual degree programs

2. All transcript(s) from colleges attended

  • A separate transcript is required for each college and/or university attended after graduating from high school. Contact your Community College/previous institution(s) to obtain.
  • Unofficial copies may be used for an admissions decision to be rendered. You would need to submit final official copies prior to enrollment.


Application and Financial Aid Deadlines

  • Husson has a rolling admissions policy.
  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) becomes available after October 1, 2024 for 2025-2026 enrollment. The FAFSA is the first and most important step in applying for financial aid, and should be completed as soon as possible. The Federal School Code for Husson University is 002043.

  • Guaranteed admission with a 2.50 GPA
  • Guaranteed transfer of credits (Credit applicability is dependent upon the alignment between the development of pathways to connect the associate degree program with the baccalaureate degree program).
  • Automatic consideration for merit scholarships (For campus-based students only)
    • Transfer Merit Awards
      Based on GPA
    • Maine Community College Award
      Students must matriculate immediately following completion of their Associate's
    • Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Award
      Students must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and matriculate immediately following completion of their Associate's
