For more than a hundred years, Husson has been making important contributions to the City of Bangor, and we continue that tradition today. It is a win-win approach to doing good; not only do we provide valuable services to the people in our community, but this gives our students real-life, hands-on experience in a variety of areas including health care, occupational therapy, family business, and cultural events.
Kenduskeag Institute
Located in the Swan Center, the Kenduskeag Institute is a research center dedicated to conducting important research into human movement, physical fitness, and techniques of regaining ability and mobility.
Research and Education Center
The Research and Education Center is a state-of-the-art facility where students work closely with faculty to conduct research using high-end equipment. The Center serves as a hands-on experiential learning facility for students in the occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, pharmacy and forensic science programs. Students participate regularly in interprofessional learning activities within the health-related programs.
The Research and Education Center is also home to Soaring Eagles Healthcare Clinic, a student-run pro bono clinic. The clinic offers services to the uninsured and underinsured in the Bangor community. Students provide assessment and intervention in supervised interdisciplinary student teams.
Richard E. Dyke Center for Family Business
Husson's Richard E. Dyke Center for Family Business works to support and strengthen Maine's 30,000 family-owned businesses. The Center also features a state-of-the-art meeting and conference facility available for use by business and community organizations.
